2010 LA ROCA POLICIES
PLAYER FEES
All players are expected to make a full year commitment to La Roca once joining a La Roca team. Players must pay registration fees, club fee, and coaching fees.
Registration fees are paid to the Utah Youth Soccer Association and District 4 of which La Roca belongs. These fees are mandatory to play soccer in Utah. Fees range from $75-95/player/year.
Club fees ($160/player/year) are required by all La Roca players. Club fees cover the cost of running the La Roca Futbol Club and include maintaining our office and website, administrative salaries, Director of Coaching, field fees, goalkeeper training, college recruiting training, club skills training, coaching education, etc.
Coaching fees are determined by the level of team on which the player is placed. Coaching fees are as follows:

Referee fees, indoor facility fees, indoor fees, and tournament fees are determined by the total amount divided by the number of players on the team. All players are expected to share in these expenses.
REFUND POLICY
The La Roca Futbol Club forms new teams in June of each year. Club fees and coaching fees are based on the commitments made by players/parents during registration. Players are expected to make a full year commitment to La Roca once a player is registered. Because La Roca makes commitments to teams and coaches at this time, the following refund policy has been adopted for the 2010-2011 seasonal year.
No refunds will be issued on club fees once a player has registered.
UYSA has a very strict transfer policy which states players may only transfer teams between November 15th through January 15th. Based on this policy, La Roca will only transfer players into and out of La Roca during this time. If a player transfers out of La Roca training fees will be required as follows:
o If a player leaves a team in the months of June through November, he/she will pay six months of training fees.
o If a player leaves a team in December, he/she will pay seven months of training fees.
o If a player leaves a team in January, he/she will pay eight months of training fees
o If a player leaves a team in the months of February through May, he/she will pay 12 months of training fees.
o Players may transfer within La Roca at any time and training fees may be adjusted accordingly.
INJURY POLICY
If a player is injured and unable to participate in soccer, the following must occur to stop training fee payments:
- The player must be seen by a medical professional (physician, physical therapist or athletic trainer).
- The player must notify the coach and La Roca office of the injury.
- The player must provide the La Roca office with an official medical excuse signed by a medical professional stating the estimated time the player will not be able to play.
- The player must be kept out of play at least eight weeks to stop training fees. Training fees will not be charged for the next month after the injury has occurred. For example, if the player is injured in August and the player must be out for at least eight weeks, training fees will be not be charged for September and October.
- The player may return only after he/she has been released by a medical professional. A written release is required in the office.
- Training fees will resume once the player has returned to play.
SCHOLARSHIP POLICY
- La Roca offers scholarships on a limited basis each year.
- Scholarships will be given for training fees only. No scholarships will be given for registration fees or club fees.
- Players requesting a scholarship must fill out a La Roca Scholarship Application form.
- The application must be filled out completely, signed by a parent/guardian and turned into the La Roca office by July 1, 2010.

- Scholarship applications will be reviewed by a committee of the La Roca Board of Directors.
- Scholarships will be approved based on the entire club rather than individual teams.
- Scholarship applicants are required to work during the La Roca Pioneer Cup and other times as requested by the club.
- Scholarships will be awarded by mid August.
- If awarded a scholarship and payment is required, payments will begin in September.
- Criteria will be as follows:
o Player must provide financial need such as proof of income, player on “free school lunch” program, etc.
o Once a scholarship is awarded and if fees are due, parent must sign financial agreement stating how/when partial payments will be paid.
NONPAYMENT OF FEES
If a player is delinquent on fees, the player card will be pulled and the player will NOT be permitted to train and/or play until fees are paid.

La Roca teams may travel to tournaments. For those teams traveling out-of-state and/or to St. George, UT, the following policy has been adopted for the 2010-2011 seasonal year:
- The coach will determine which tournament his/her team will attend. He/she will notify the team of the tournament schedule for the entire year. This will be done in June at the first parent meeting after tryouts.
- All players are expected to attend tournaments.

§ Travel to/from tournament including either flight or travel by car.
· If a coach takes a flight, the team will cover the flight. No rental car will be provided by the team unless the coach is taking more than one team. Otherwise, he is expected to ride with a parent or pay the rental car fee himself. If he takes more than one team and a car is rented, the team will cover the cost of the rental car. The coach will cover the gas.

It is recommended that each team take chaperons at a ratio of 1 chaperone per 4-5 players. Players will share the expenses of the hotel rooms. Chaperones will be counted in the total number to determine the number of rooms needed. Chaperones will pay their own expenses.
- Players in the U10-U15 age groups may stay with parents. It is recommended that all players/parents stay together as a team whenever possible.
