Nick Thiros, a Class of 2013 midfield prospect from Layton, Utah, has verbally commited to New Mexico.

Nick Thiros recently committed to New Mexico.

Thiros plays club soccer for La Roca FC, which recently placed second in the Copa Gray division at the Disney Soccer Showcase. Thiros has been a US Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program Region IV participant, as well. He received honorable mention all-state honors while playing high school soccer for Layton (Utah) last spring.

“Nick displays a beautiful touch, outstanding field vision and great composure with a high pass completion rating. He is where the La Roca offensive attack begins,” said Adolfo Ovalle, La Roca FC director of coaching.

Thiros is the first confirmed verbal to New Mexico for the Class of 2013.

Other Schools Considered: University of San Diego, Santa Clara

Why New Mexico?: ”I like the team, coaches, and facilities and how the program is run.”

What surprised you the most about the recruiting process?: ”You have to initiate contact and do a lot of work to be seen by California schools. If a school is interested in you, they will let you know.”
